Florida Running Back Adam Lane Says Pooping His Pants During Bowl Game was "best thing that could have happened"

Adam Lane, then a freshman running back the University of Florida, suffered an embarrassing moment nobody wants to endure during the Birmingham Bowl earlier this year. ESPN cameras caught Lane hustling off the sideline to wrap a towel around his waist after suffering an accident in his pants. He finished the game with 109 rushing yards, but that’s basically an afterthought.

Anyways, fast forward to today and Florida appeared to have some sort of media availability. A reporter asked Lane about his accident. Lane’s response is … well … quite unexpected and might put him in the running for best sports’ quote of 2015.

From GatorBait.net:

"“It was the best thing that could have happened,” he said. “It got a lot of attention and just put me in a place where I was out there publicly and people knew who I was. I really didn’t get a lot of grief from it. “A lot of people were really more focused on how well I did in the game more than anything. I feel like it was that way because I embraced it.”"

I really don’t even know how to respond to that. Most people would probably still be embarassed or pissed off, yet Lane is running with it. Impressive.

Alternately in 2015, as we know, almost any publicity is good publicity.
