Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina — two of baseball’s top gamers — combined for this sad trombone moment in Game 1 of the World Series in Boston. The misplayed Stephen Drew popup didn’t go down as an error, although the Cardinals have two already.
Perhaps the Cardinals were still shell-shocked from the first inning, which included a controversial call and reversal by the umpires. Drew later scored on a single by Dustin Pedroia.
