Graziano Pelle: Overhead Volley vs. QPR is One of the Best Goals of the EPL Season

Graziano Pelle scored a contender for EPL Goal of the Season Saturday afternoon in Southampton’s 2-1 win at QPR. The goal got lost a little bit in the shuffle with both the Merseyside and North London derbies going on, as well as Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all playing matches at the same time. Either way, the Italian’s flick to himself and overhead volley is special.

Pelle now has four goals in six league matches for Southampton, which is surprisingly second in the table following a mass summer exodus. New Saints manager Ronald Koeman took a flier on Pelle, whom he managed previously at Feyenoord in the Netherlands. The 29-year-old arrived in England with a “journeyman” tag, but that label appears to be anything but the case so far.
