Floyd Mayweather Told an Outrageous Lie About Justin Bieber

TMZ caught up with Floyd Mayweather — there’s video, so, unlike with their reporting, we can be sure it happened — and asked him a couple questions in that grating tone of voice they always use. Asked if the Raiders would win a game this year, the boxer changed the subject, said he’d won a little money gambling, and pulled out a stack of hundred dollar bills that possibly equated more than I make in a year.

Then the subject turned to Justin Bieber, of whom Mayweather is serving as something of a mentor in the boxing ring. Could the pop star become a professional fighter? “Oh Absolutely,” Mayweather replied. “Justin Bieber’s a true champion.” That’s obviously untrue, though there would perhaps be nothing more potentially entertaining from the general public’s perspective than for Justin Bieber to believe he could compete in the ring with real boxers. He’d get decimated.

Listen: As someone who’s seen Justin Bieber in concert, I’ll say that he is in really good shape. If he were recklessly speeding around my neighborhood and we got in a fight, he’d probably win handily. But, you could have the ability to beat up 99% of the population and still get absolutely stomped on by someone who does that for a living. Any real boxer would impale Bieber’s face.
