There are some very large alligators hanging around the 2016 Olympic golf course in Rio de Janeiro. The video above was shot by Ransomes Turf, a British firm maintaining the facility that will host the return of golf to the Olympics in 10 months. The gators have lost some of their natural habitat to the course and surrounding condo developments, but organizers say that there’s no concern and that they’ll have a strategy in place to prevent a problem.

"“We’ll have a strategy in place that will minimize any possibility of a player or spectator coming across these,” said Anthony Scanlon, executive director of the International Golf Federationa. “The other thing to remember about these alligators is, if they do arrive, they arrive at night and we won’t be playing golf at night. I don’t think we’re going to get a bite.”"

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen gators on a golf course.

There’s a 12-footer in one of the lakes at my home course. I’ve included a picture of this 12-foot gator I’m talking about that I took a couple of weeks ago.
