Johnny Manziel's Entourage Allegedly Beat Up A Guy That Tried to Approach Him, Per Cleveland Report [UPDATE]
By Jason Lisk
Johnny Manziel and his “entourage” were in the middle of an incident on Friday night/early Saturday morning, according to a report from Clevescene.com. The report cites a police report, where police responded to “The 9”, a high end apartment complex in Cleveland, at 2:36 a.m.
According to the report, a man named Chris Gonos recognized Manziel while waiting to get on the elevator. He allegedly approached Manziel and said, “I’m the biggest Browns fan ever, I love you, I want to give you a hug.”
As he approached Manziel, he was then reportedly punched by someone in Manziel’s “crew” and a brawl ensued. His injuries were listed as “swollen lip, right eye swollen, red face.” Police responded to the scene with a report of a riot involving 20 men and 2 security guards, and a security guard who intervened also was allegedly hurt.
UPDATE: Clevescene.com has updated their story with additional statements from the person who approached Manziel (Gonos), and he claims that Manziel sucker punched his brother, after they were pulled apart.
“I got a bruised hip and a bruised elbow, and somebody hit me in the back of the head, too. My brother saw what was going on and he ran he tackled Johhny Manziel – I guess he got the sack and the fumble. He tackled him, yeah, I’m talking about he speared him all the way to the back wall. I was cornered; I was by myself and Johnny Manziel and like three or four of his buddies were all coming at me. (My brother) just came to help me out, and I guess Johnny sucker punched him while the security guard was holding him. It should be all on video.”
Ray Farmer, Cleveland GM, has also released a statement that the Browns are “aware” and gathering information about the incident.
