Ohio State Got a Technical Foul Because They Put Trey McDonald in the Scorebook with the Wrong Number
By Jason McIntyre

Trey McDonald tried to check into Ohio State’s 1st round game against VCU, but referees stopped him. McDonald was listed in the book as #50; he was wearing jersey #55.
Ohio State was given a technical foul, and VCU was awarded two free throws, and only made one.
As the announcers noted, McDonald played all season in #55, but for some reason, his number was butchered in the scorebook. Whoops! Somebody’s walking home.
