Peyton Manning Threw Passes While Delivering Valediction Speech at University of Virginia

Peyton Manning was part of the University of Virginia’s valedictory exercises on Saturday. The school’s graduating committee invited him due to his excellent leadership on and off the field — and perhaps because they thought he would speak to them like he did the kids in that famous Saturday Night Live sketch.

Manning said many inspiring things during the 20-minute speech, but took a detour along the way to chuck passes to a few graduates-to-be. The Denver Broncos quarterback, whose wife is an alum, said he always regretted not slinging the pigskin on the grounds.

He rectified this by just having fun out there as a delighted crowd looked on. I’d wager this is the first time Manning has ever completed a pass to a gentleman wearing a bow tie and vest — and will likely be the last.
