The Underdogs Can't Keep Up Their NFL Hot Streak, Right?
By Jason McIntyre
Picking five NFL games against the spread each week is difficult. Did you know 57 percent over the course of a season is considered very successful? Noah is 1-9 through two weeks. I’m 5-5.
This is a challenging week for one primary reason: Underdogs have gone 19-12-1 in the first two weeks of the season. Will that continue, or will it come to an end? Reasons it may not continue: one underdog (Tampa) was slaughtered Thursday, and many others Sunday are unattractive: New York Giants, Minnesota, Tennessee, Jacksonville and Arizona. The line is moving toward the dog in only one of those games (New York). Arizona, with Drew Stanton possibly starting again, is a 3-point underdog at home against San Francisco.
You’re supposed to consider double-digit underdogs, but Oakland? Please.
As usual, Oddsshark has some great trends to consider.
I’m riding with some underdogs this weekend, but surely I’ll be a week late to the underdog party and favorites will dominate. That’s how it works, right?
