DeMarcus Cousins Returns, Plays Well, Misses Game-Winner Versus the Bucks (Blame the Owner)

DeMarcus Cousins returned from a 10-game absence on Thursday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. Cousins finished with 27 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. He also missed the game-winner at the buzzer, but the blame for that should fall on the owner.

Vivek Ranadivé wanted jazz. Your center going iso at the top of the key and taking a step-back jumper is jazz. It’s bad jazz, but it’s jazz.

This is the play that Tyrone Corbin drew up. Or more likely didn’t draw up. Cousins has the range to hit shots from that distance in the flow of an offense, but asking him to go one-on-one from that spot in this situation is ridiculous. Even if Cousins is your best player, this is a situation that screams for Boogie’s Team USA teammate, Rudy Gay. Or, you know, an actual play.

Let’s see how long it takes for Ranadivé to pivot away from Ty Corbin if the Kings remain a .500 team.
