Sox, Sale working on an extension: The Boston Red Sox are reportedly working on an extension for ace Chris Sale. It would likely pay Sale something in the range of $150 million over five years.
Vanderbilt cans Drew: Vanderbilt has fired Bryce Drew as its head basketball coach after three seasons at the helm. Drew went 40-59 during his tenure. Drew brought in a lauded recruiting class this year but the Commodores were a massive disappointment, going 9-23 and 0-18 in the SEC.
