Five NFL Picks Against the Spread: The Packers, Eagles & Ravens Are Underdogs!
By Jason McIntyre
Picking five NFL games against the spread each week is terribly difficult. We’re using lines from the Hilton SuperContest, and remember, 57 percent is considered good. CineSport’s Noah Coslov was stoked about the potential of 4-1 when the Texans took a 13-0 lead Monday night, but he had to settle for a 3-2 when they collapsed in Pittsburgh. Jason went 4-1. Season records: Noah 15-20; Jason 20-15.
As the season goes on, fans and the media get a good grasp about every NFL team, but Vegas has the firmest grasp. Which makes this next statement interesting: the Packers, Eagles and Ravens, who are a combined 15-5, are all short road underdogs. Are the Saints as bad as their record? We talk about that in the above video.
A trap I always seem to fall into: I’ll take home dogs one week, and when they all fail, I give up on home dogs. I have trouble staying the course. For instance: Once Indy failed me at home in week two with a late, awful collapse against the Eagles, I stopped picking the Colts. In fact, I picked against them twice! And lost both.
My other trap: Late swap-outs. I’ve loved Chicago since they lost to the Dolphins and the locker room imploded. Naturally, this morning, I made a change. Ugh.
If you’re wondering who the public likes more than anyone, Oddshark has the answer and (surprise!) it’s a road favorite.
